Zane State College is responsible for reporting to the campus significant criminal incidents on or near the campus that may pose a continuing threat to campus safety and security. This notification is presented in compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics of 1998 (formerly the Crime Awareness and Campus Security Act of 1990).
The timely warning will be issued through the campuses' Blackboard Connect messaging system and/ or the ACE email messaging system to students and employees along with necessary website updates. Depending on the particular circumstances such as a weather event, crime, or hazard (especially in situations that could pose an immediate physical threat to the community and individuals), the Campus Safety and Security Department will post a notice on the website under the “Crime Alert” section. In such instances, a copy of the notice will be posted in the academic buildings.
Anyone with information warranting a “Crime Alert” should report the circumstances to the Campus Safety and Security Department immediately.
