FYEX 1010  – First Year Success Strategies familiarizes students with the Zane State College campus, student related policies and procedures, support services, and computer systems. Students also learn key strategies for managing their time and finances as well as how to make the most efficient use of their study time. Advisors and course instructors help students construct an academic plan to guide their course registrations through the remainder of their first year.


Students may choose from a variety of course formats:


FYEX 1010  linked with BMCA 1050 – Introduction to Microcomputer Software Applications Because students enroll in both courses, supportive friendships develop. Linked course have integrated content and assignments that count in both courses. 

FYEX 1020 – Freshman Seminar   is a great option for students transferring into Zane State College with some college experience to familiarize themselves with operations on this campus. Students selecting this option will further develop skills in critical thinking, oral and written communications, and team work essential for success in academic work.
