How do I login to Blackboard?

Navigate an Internet browser to My.ZaneState.Edu and click the Blackboard link within the Quick Links area.  You may also visit the page directly by typing  Only use your Zane State College username for Blackboard.  Blackboard does not permit the use of email accounts as the username. 


I forgot my username.

Please check for your username and email address located on your student ID.  For any questions, please contact the Technology Solutions Center.  We can assist you in determining your username.


I forgot my password.

Simply click here and then click the reset password button.  Your old password is not required. If you have questions, please contact the Technology Solutions Center at 740.588.1327 or email us at


What if I cannot see my Blackboard course?

If the semester has not started yet this is normal, all Blackboard courses are turned on the first day of each semester. If your courses disappear at some point during the semester, please contact the Technology Solutions Center.


I am having trouble using Blackboard to complete my work, what can I do?

Please contact your instructor by email explaining the situation in detail.  You may also contact the Technology Solutions Center for technical support. 

  • Please note, if you are experiencing trouble uploading completed documents to Blackboard.  Make sure you close out of the document before attempting to upload it to Blackboard.


How do I download the Blackboard App for my smart device?

You may download the Blackboard app from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store by searching for "Blackboard". After opening the Blackboard app you will need to type in our College name Zane State College. The app will automatically find it as you are typing.


What is the preferred Internet browser to use with Blackboard?

Blackboard supports Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge and Apple Safari.


How do I download the Distance Learning WebEx app for my mobile device?

The WebEx app can be found by searching the words "Cisco WebEx Meetings" in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.  The app is a free download for tablets and smart phones.  Once the WebEx app is downloaded, students will use WebEx when the instructor provides a WebEx URL through Blackboard or email.  The WebEx app will launch automatically when the instructor provided URL is opened.
