As a State of Ohio assisted institution, Zane State College is obligated to comply with the law established by the Ohio legislature and charged to the chancellor of the Ohio Department of Higher Education in regards to verifying residency status and assessing tuition costs for each student.

Students classified as Ohio residents for tuition purposes receive a tuition subsidy which is partly funded by Ohio taxpayers. The law is intended to exclude those students from Ohio residency classification who are in the state of Ohio primarily for the purpose of receiving a state-subsidized education.

To be classified as an Ohio resident for tuition purposes, a student must meet guidelines for residency as defined by the Ohio Administrative Code, Chapter 3333-1-10, and Ohio Revised Code, Chapter 3333.31. Please note that the term "resident for tuition purposes” may differ from other definitions of Ohio residency.
