Video Entry System Effective 3/18/2024

ATTENTION! IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING ENTERING COLLEGE HALL TO TEST:
Effective Monday, March 18, Zane State College building doors will be locked, and all visitors/guests, including testing candidates, will use a video entry system. Please tap the screen located to the right of the front entrance, and, when prompted, be prepared to show photo ID and give testing as reason for entry. This proactive step ensures a safer environment for everyone on campus. Thank you!

ALEKS is a web-based program used to determine a student’s readiness for mathematics courses. Students who take the initial test at The Testing Center, can continue to use the program to work on skills and later retest for attempts at higher course placement. A ZSC Student Services Advisor or CCP Advisor will review scores and help make appropriate recommendations for course registration.

BMCA Credit By Exam

Students must complete the Credit-by-Exam Application and pay the $50 fee prior to testing. Forms are available in The Testing Center or from a student's program advisor.

Credit-by-exam is available for BMCA 1020, BMCA 1050, BMCA 1110, and some additional courses upon request and approval.

Carefully read the exam application for testing policies.

Each BMCA exam may be taken only once.

Students must score a 60% or better to earn credit.

For BMCA 1020, a book is available for study. It can be checked out from the Testing Center.

For BMCA 1110 (Keyboarding), students must type 30 words-per-minute in five minutes with five errors or fewer (unlimited attempts in one hour).
