Student Quick Start Guide

 

 

Logging In:

All Zane State College students have a Blackboard account. Your  username is the same as your Zane State College email (everything before the “@”), all lower case.

 

Your  password is the same as your e-mail, My Z-Online and computer login.
 

     

Accessing Your Courses:   

After you log in, you will see a list of courses you are taking on Blackboard on the right side of the screen under  MyCourses. Click a course’s title to access that course.

 

If you do not see any courses listed when you log in, please contact your instructor.

 

Navigating a Course:

Use the  Course Menu on the left to visit the various sections of your course. You can also click the folder icon just above the course menu to see how a course is structured and to jump to any part of the course.

Taking a Test Online (2 min 5 sec)

When your instructor posts an online test in Blackboard, you will need to access the test in your course, enter your answers and submit your test for a grade. This brief video will guide you through those steps.

The discussion board is a place your instructor has created for you to exchange ideas with your class. You can participate in the dialog by posting and responding to questions and statements called threads.

You can create a thread in an existing forum. If you want to start a new conversation or discussion in a forum, create a new thread to keep the ideas together.
