If you are not applying to CCP, you must present a photo ID to take the placement test.

All testers must provide one of the following ID numbers:

    1. Social Security Number (SSN)
    2. Zane State College student ID number
    3. Statewide Student Identifier (SSID), which appears on your high school transcript (this is different from your high school student ID number)

You will not be able to take the test if you do not bring one of these numbers, memorized or written down.

Taking the Test

  • If you are taking both tests, the writing test will be first and the math test second.
  • Some math questions provide an on-screen calculator; others require the use of scrap paper.
  • The test is not timed, but most students take one-and-a-half to two hours to complete both the writing and math test.
  • The Testing Center closes at 5:30 p.m. If tests are scheduled for 4:00 p.m. or later, the hours have been extended.
  • Pencils, scrap paper, and a computer will be provided.
  • Proctors monitor the test room in person or by video camera.
  • When you are finished, you will receive a copy of your scores to take with you.
  • CCP applicants' scores will be sent to the CCP coordinator. You may ask for an extra copy of your scores to take to your guidance counselor if needed.
