Juneteenth commemorates the effective end of slavery in the United States, and June 19, 1865, is when the announcement that proclaimed freedom for enslaved people in Texas.⁠ In observance of Juneteenth, Zane State College will be closed on Wednesday, June 19, and will resume regular hours of operation on Thursday, June 20.
